Give Back a Smile

"Give Back a Smile" is a volunteer program that invites dentists, hygienists and dental assistants to donate their services to the uninsured population at KinderSmile Community Oral Health Center.

This is unique platform for community service by providing treatment to local children who would otherwise rely on emergency dental services. We are recruiting all licensed dental professionals to join us in a collaborative, county-wide volunteer effort to close the gap in access to oral health care for uninsured children.

All dental professionals are responsible for keeping their skills up-to-date by participating in continuing education courses, seminars or research, and must report these CE endeavors to the New Jersey Board of Dentistry every two years.

Dentists: 40 credits     Hygienists: 20 credits     Dental Assistants: 10 credits

"Give Back a Smile" volunteers accrue 1 CE credit per every 2 hours of volunteer dental work. We are coordinating with the New Jersey Board of Dentistry to waive up to 50% of our participants' biennial CE requirements.

Coming Soon: "Give Back a Smile" volunteers will have the opportunity to connect with esteemed peers from across the state of New Jersey who have come together at KinderSmile Community Oral Health Center for a common cause: to close the gap of oral healthcare access for uninsured children.

We are inspired by the idea of creating a unique platform for dentists of all stages to come together and learn from one another. To this end, we will be developing special events to match seasoned and retired dentists with rising dental professionals and students applying the dental school. In conjunction with the New Jersey Dental Association, events will be held at our 10 Broad St, Bloomfield headquarters. Be sure to Register to Volunteer to stay informed about mentoring developments.
