Thank you for being part of the KinderSmile Foundation village. With your support, in 2025 we provided access to oral health care to nearly 9,000 smiles at KinderSmile Community Oral Health Centers Bloomfield, Newark, and Trenton, and our community programs.
We are heading into a year of Medicaid cuts, and loss of insurance coverage for 350,000 members. We expect a sharp increase in uninsured patients. Yet, as always, we move forward with gratitude and hope.
Have you ever experienced dental pain? The kind of pain hurts with every step you take? A throbbing ache that won’t let you sleep? Have you ever spoken to a child who told you that they could not concentrate in school because of their teeth? Or one who told you about a shared family toothbrush? Or the child who had been brushing without toothpaste since the previous month?
Dental caries are largely preventable, but only through the expansion of public health resources and programs. And until that happens, the school child with the toothache that prevents him from sleeping or learning, is in danger.
